Wisdom Institute Virtual Signature Event

Date & Time
October 2, 2020, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Description
Join us for a virtual conversation with authors Freeman Hrabowski, Philip Rous, and Peter Henderson about The Empowered University: Shared Leadership, Culture Change, and Academic Success, Friday, October 2, 2020. We are delighted to bring the authors of what has become a national conversation home.
This book opens with a heading, “It’s about Us.” Unlike most books by college presidents and provosts who typically write from a position of authority about their accomplishments, this book really is about us, that is, all of us who have worked to make UMBC the wonderful campus it is today. That being said, we know leadership matters. Leaders can create an empowered campus or render others silent and invisible. We will have the opportunity to discuss and reflect upon the values, vision, challenges, and successes that created UMBC and made it the prestigious university it is today.
The program will begin with a “meet and greet” opportunity from 11:00-11:15 a.m. The conversation with the authors will begin promptly at 11:15. There will be time allotted for questions and answers, then we will close at 12:30 p.m. Registration is required and the form can be accessed here. Registration will close on September 30. We look forward to seeing you there!
Do you need a copy of The Empowered University? The UMBC Bookstore has books in stock with convenient shipping or curbside pickup available.
